McCurdy School is located in the Espanola Valley of Northern New Mexico. With 40 buildings located throughout the 44 acre campus, it requires enormous amounts of effort to maintain the facilities. In order to fulfill our mission, McCurdy is dependent upon volunteers and work teams. Each year dozens of teams from across the country make their way to our campus in order to repair, restore and prepare the facilities for the new school year. In many cases new construction projects are undertaken by the work teams.

Work team members learn about McCurdy’s mission, its history, the people served and its contributions to the religious, educational, and cultural life of northern New Mexico. Living in the dormitories and eating at the student center help them become aware of the quality of the McCurdy program and the needs of students and faculty.
The number of participants will depend on transportation, cost and project needs. McCurdy limits work teams to 15 participants per team. While many work teams come in the summer, we also accept them throughout the school year.
If youth are part of the work team, they must have already completed the sixth grade. For adequate dorm and work supervision, there should be one adult for every three youth.
