Sanford D. Coon is an ordained elder in The United Methodist Church and has served as Executive Director of the New Mexico Conference Methodist Foundation since early 2001.  After having served in pastoral appointments for 19 years, Reverend Coon was called to new ministries in the field of financial development in United Methodist churches and institutions.  He served as a field consultant with an international capital fund raising firm and other appointments to United Methodist institutions prior to becoming a Stewardship Consultant with the Texas Methodist Foundation.  His current role allows for him to work closely with the administration of McCurdy School and with the school’s foundation in the oversight of the school’s endowment, in planned giving, in promotion of the ministry of the school in local churches, and in other roles that connect him to the efforts to develop a financial stability for the school.
